directX install failed

im trying to install latest directx because my sleeping dogs wont launch and was told to go to the windows site to get latest one but its failing to install any help?

What is the error code of the Sleeping dogs launcher?

And what does it say when it fails to install?

"An internal system error occured. Please refer to DXError.log and DirectX.log in your windows folder to determine the problem."

Im looking it all up trying to get the updates and stuff.. no luck :(
