Overlord 2 error.

Go to solution Solved by Trik'Stari,

Checked the steam community hub, apparently some others have had this problem. The solution is to download a specific PhysX driver. Attempting now

Edit: that fixed it. Kind of weird since all of my drivers for Nvidia are up to date, at least according to Geforce Experience.

I recently got Overlord II in a giveaway contest here on LTT. Thanks to @upliftsleet1974 for being so generous.

I set the game to download overnight on steam, and this morning when I went to run it I get an error message, which is as follows:

"Assertion failed!

Programs...

File:..\FxSDK\Src\FxName.cpp

Line: 461

Expression: FxFalse != remove result

For information on how your program can cause an assertion failure, see the Visual C++ documentation on asserts."

Ok so I have NO IDEA what any of that means, best course of action? The game doesn't even begin to run, it went through the standard steam setup thingy. Gave me an error message saying that it might not have installed properly, I clicked reinstall with optimal settings or whatever, and get this message immediately upon trying to start the game.

Did that, all files verified, still get the error message. @GingerbreadPK

Edit: All of my drivers are up to date. Should I uninstall and reinstall?

i think the game needs a C++ package to run, based on that error not sure though, gingerbread solution should fix it if not try to reinstall the package the game needs
