I recently got a laptop with an Nvidia Geforce GTX 760M, and it was running great. About a month later, Nvidia Control Panel, Geforce Experience, etc. would not open. I looked in Device Manager and it said that the GPU had encountered Code 43. Basically Code 43 means that the device does not work and you have to reinstall drivers or replace it.

Windows 8 64-bit

i7 4700HQ 2.4GHz (Quad core)

16GB Memory

750GB HDD

Nvidia Geforce GTX 760M

Basically an Asus N56JR

Does anyone have a step by step instruction of what I can do to fix it? Thanks.

I recently got an Asus N56JR laptop, and it has a GTX 760M in it. I got the laptop back in June, and about a month later the GPU encountered Code 43 and would not run at all. I ended up taking the laptop back to the Micro Center near my house and they fixed it and told me it was a corrupted driver.

Now, it has Code 43 again for whatever reason and I would like to know a step by step process for fixing this issue. I did try uninstalling and reinstalling drivers,  uninstalling and updating, etc.

I may resort to using the driver disk if I have to, because downloading drivers and reinsalling is very tedious.

Specs:

Asus N56JR laptop

Intel i7 4700HQ Quad core (2.4GHz)

Nvidia Geforce GTX 760M

16GB Memory

750GB 7200RPM HDD

Windows 8 (64-bit)

Ever tried a vBIOS flash for the dGPU? Also, I suggest booting into safe mode, running the newest driver as administrator, selecting "custom" install method and checking the "clean" install option, letting it go, then rebooting into NORMAL windows (not back into safe mode) when prompted. See if that fixes it; that usually is the way to avoid any driver corruption with your installs as safe mode will prevent any non-windows services from running.

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.

THE INFORMATION GUIDES: SLI INFORMATION || vRAM INFORMATION || MOBILE i7 CPU INFORMATION || Maybe more someday

No, how do I do that?

I did reinstall the newest driver by doing a clean installation, but not in safe mode. I will do that soon.
