Headphones around $150

Hi guys,

As the title said, I wanna buy a decent headphones that costs around $150. I'm eyeing the AT M50X (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JZRXWRW/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_S_img?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2NNTT2QO9RCZ9&coliid=I2EW8H6IYRZ6RK&psc=1) right now. It comes with an amp so it's a pretty sweet deal. But I think there are better options out there. So could you guys suggest me some?

I owned ATH-PRO500MK2 and I really like how it sounds. But the ear cups are rock hard. Wearing it for longer than an hour hurts my ears.

Why not just replace the pads if you like how it sounds?

 

M40X is a better value than the M50X, and neither need that little amp anyways.

There's no "HD Series" by Sennheiser - pretty much all of their headphone model numebrs start with "HD".

What about the HD 25SP? HD 25-1 II? HD 6/7/8? Not only does the number scheme not line up, but they're not even intended for the same use as those on the page you linked. Just search "HD" on their website and you'll get multiple "types" of "HD" headphones. 

 

 

Calling "HD" a series is just as silly as saying "ATH" is one of audio-technica's headphone series.

I'm not looking to start a fight here, I just wanted to inform you that there's no "HD series" in an apparently futile attempt to explain OP's confusion and to help you better communicate when making recommendations.

 

HD 518 through HD 598 is the current "500" series. HD 419 through HD 449 is the current "400" series. HD 600 and HD 650 make up the "600" series. HD 700 and 800 are pretty much another series, but don't really have a name to denote that series. HD 280 Pro, HD 380 Pro, HD 25-1 II, and many many others make up their monitoring series. HD 6 MIX, HD 7 DJ, and HD 8 DJ make up a subcategory in the monitoring series designed specifically for DJ's.
