Gta sa skipping/lagging

Playing gta san andreas and every 10-15 seconds the game seems to freeze for a split second. No mods, new game, changed from max/medium settings and it still does it. Specs in sig

Do you have the latest patch?

No its v1.0, i tried getting v1.01 and it fails to update (all it does is patch the hot coffee mod tho)

You said you have no mods... And why do you have "that thing" installed in your GTA SA? It's literally the biggest dissapointment I have seen in GTA SA

i don't have "that thing" installed, but thats what it patches (it even says on the R* site...) its a complete fresh install.

The latest Nvidia drivers are causing major freezing issues. check that.

yes.

 

Check the Nvidia forums, There's lots of people reported freezing and system lockup issues.

 

Lockups tend to happen a lot when viewing flash videos especially on Youtube

which isn't the first time Nvidia drivers have had issues clashing with Flash.

 

Try rolling back and see if the problem goes away,

I just played it through a few weeks ago. Great game. I got the steam version, it's v3.0 according to the game (main menu, lower right-hand corner). I had no problems whatsoever, although I am full AMD (955 Black Box and 7870 HD) and not Nvidia. All I can say to help is that I have 64bit windows 8. Sorry that I couldn't be more helpful. Alternatively check out the steam forums of the game. It often contains solutions to problems like these.
