Hey everyone

I'm planning on building a new gaming computer in the next week.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/VwZWJx

The budget is 600 CAD$

Will an overclocked pentium g3258 bottleneck a R9 280 at 1080p?

An overclocked Pentium K will actually pull past a stock i7, so it will handle even 290s without a problem.

Don't get Kingston V300 by the way, it's literally the worst SSD you can buy right now, which is why it's so cheap.

As Logan said, that Pentium is really not worth getting. I recommend spending a bit more and getting an FX 6300. You'll be happy in the long run.

You should specify that this is only in gaming (and not all of them). Anything remotely optimized to run on 2+ threads will make the i7 shit all over the pentium.

I understand what you meant and hopefully everyone else did too. I just think it's best to specify on the off chance that someone misunderstands what you're trying to say.
