slow wifi

I usually get like 100+mbps on my signal speed but recently it would drop to 5.5-13mbps from time to time. Its really annoying when I try to play a game and i would dc or watch a video and it would freeze -.-.  I already tried restarting the router a bunch of times and updating the firmware on the router. I am using a ASUS RT-N56U.  Please help  :(

what is your wifi adaptor?

 

have you updated your wireless adaptor driver?

 

remember to disable the save power mode for your wifi adaptor

notebook

go to control panel

 

click on hardware and sound

 

look for device manager

 

search for network adapter

 

right click on the wifi adapter and select properties

 

click on driver tab

 

select update driver

 

look for

a picture of the router settings may help

under more reply options 

 

you should be able to attach pictures

 

 

by modem

 

i mean the device which is connected to your cable point or telephone line before it is connected to your router

Slow?!? Try using my 500kbps and then tell me that yours is 'slow'

:) Life is life, sometime just stare at the people with Google fiber with 1Gigabit internet

Try Calling your ISP (Internet Service Provider) and see if they can recognize any problems. Otherwise try using different cables from your modem to your router.
