I have finally had enough money to build my first PC.

Specs:
Case: Fractal Design Core 1000
CPU: Intel Pentium K G3258
MoBo: Asus H81M-A
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport (2x4gb)
GPU: MSI R7 260x 2gb
SSD: Kingston V300 120gb
HDD: (A 1TB down the line)
PSU: Corsair CX430w

It took me a while but I finally was able to have the money and build the computer.

interesting build

but there is a problem

to use the Pentium

you need to update the BIOS of the H81 board with a normal Haswell CPU and RAM before you can use the new CPU

Nice cheap config ! This Pentium K is a interessing thing i want buy to do some extreme oc ;)

Dragoon20005, you said the board will not boot for updating the BIOS ?

H81 only supports Haswell

the Pentium is a Haswell Refresh

so yes you need a BIOS update for the older series board like the H81, H87, B85 and Z87

the Z97 and H97 works with the Pentium out of the box

In the future I will most likely get a better motherboard.

Also, I am having a problem with my Windows looking not as sharp as it should be but the resolution is at native and I do have the latest drivers.

This low res look to my Windows is really bugging me.

I was able to boot into The Windows 8.1 installer no problem with my CPU, once I had installed Windows then I did a BIOS update.

Edit: I have found out that it is the 14.7 Beta driver that causes my Windows to look very blurred/low res, but I still want to try and make it look sharp again.

Edit 2: I am using an older driver which I found on the MSI R7 260x support page and this blurryness is still here. I have also run into alot of performance issues where I will have high frames and then suddenly drop to 9 frames average, these performance issues I found were only on the 14.7 beta driver but I am testing if the older 13.20 driver has these issues.
