Windows 8.1

No use in going backwards.

windows 8.1 has been good I think.  If you want an operating system that might be looked upon as being a bit of a failure but will be supported for a long while, 8.1 is the way to go.  

 

I've had less troubles with windows 8.1 over 7.  But then again, my windows 7 pc was a crappy pre-built...

windows 8.1 has a slight performance advantage in games to windows 7, plus the future support for DX 12 which Win7 will likely not get. go with windows 8.1
