Windows version for gaming

Doesn't entirely matter unless you want to run super old games, in which case you'll want 7.

Windows 8.1

No use in going backwards.

windows 8.1 has been good I think.  If you want an operating system that might be looked upon as being a bit of a failure but will be supported for a long while, 8.1 is the way to go.  

 

I've had less troubles with windows 8.1 over 7.  But then again, my windows 7 pc was a crappy pre-built...

windows 8.1 has a slight performance advantage in games to windows 7, plus the future support for DX 12 which Win7 will likely not get. go with windows 8.1

get much better speed

faster then before

support DirectX 12 Maybe in future update
