PC Gaming build guide

Go to solution Solved by brob,

You may find that an i5-4690K and z97 motherboard are actually less expensive than a 4670K and z87 motherboard.

Instead of a WD Black I would suggest a WD Blue or Seagate Barracuda.

An ssd really is needed. Samsung 840 EVO or Crucial MX100 are popular choices. But you can consider virtually any ssd from a known manufacturer. SSD are so fast that the speed differential is unnoticeable in most uses.

The R9 290 is arguably better than the GTX 780. I suggest you pick the least expensive.

You may want to consider an IPS panel monitor instead of TN. They have better color reproduction and wider viewing angles.

I would suggest Windows 8.1. It will be supported for the longest time and new drivers/hardware will work with it.

Hello community! I'm looking forward to build a gaming pc and i need some advices about my build.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

4690k.

z97-gd45.

dont get vengeance pro. get the vengeance lp.

get an ssd.

dont get wd black. get a wd blue.

i'd choose the 780.

get an rm750 and spend the spare money elsewhere. the ax lineup is overpriced for this system.

i'd also choose another display. this one isnt that good.

dont get kraken pro.
