Drag And Drop BF4

Go to solution Solved by Damikiller37,

Ok, I think what you will have to do is once the game is downloaded cut it from wherever it is that you have downloaded it to a random temporary location. Restart Origin and the game should appear not downloaded (which is what you want) then start downloading the game again in the destination that you want the game to actually be being D:/Games. Once the game has downloaded a little (1-3% it doesn't matter) pause the download and exit the Origin client. Now copy back the game folder (the completed download that you have moved to a random temporary location) to D:/Games and overwrite existing files that were downloaded. After copying, start the Origin client again and resume the download. It should detect all of the files and say that you have downloaded everything.

i just made an Origin account and snatched BF4, as it's on sale (https://www.origin.com/en-ie/store/deals/sale/battlefieldblowout), and I downloaded it immediately after purchase. After looking at the settings on the origin client, I saw that I could change the game folder. I want it in D:/Games instead of the program files in D. However, I changed that setting after the download began. My question is: Can I move BF4 by dragging and dropping it from D:/Program Files (x86)/Origin Games in to D:/Games while retaining the full function of the game?

I think you have to do something like start downloading the game and let it get to 1% then close Origin completely, after that you go to the place it started downloading the game and delete the files it downloaded and replace them with your completed files. Turn Origin back on and the download should go to 100%. I'll just double check that though...

EDIT: Yup that is it. Here is a link to instructions: http://answers.ea.com/t5/Origin/HOW-TO-Backup-restore-Origin-games/td-p/1926893
