HD 2600 hardware acceleration.

Hello everyone. I've got an old-ass PC (Athlon 950, 256 meg SDRAM). I was wondering if installation of HD 2600 could help this system with decoding videos. But people on forums say that HD 2600 has serious issues with hardware acceleration, but those threads are old. Is there anyone who knows if those problems are solved now, in 2014. Thnx.
