Are you only going to be playing minecraft? What res will you play at?

He could play it at 1440P if he wanted to xD, Over kill bs for minecraft

Ah ok, then it is fine, but buy a 1440P monitor if you can, use the power of the R9

A 2x8GB memory kit would be better than 4x4GB. It is more efficient. Puts less of a load on the memory controller. Allows for memory upgrades by simply adding a 2x4GB or 2x8GB kit.

 

I would suggest getting Windows 8.1 as it is newer and will therefore be supported longer. Also, new devices are more likely to be supported.

 

An ssd would make a real difference.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
