Pretend build!

**PLEASE READ**

So, simply put, I love making pretend setups in newegg and so-forth. Things people would actually build. Because I don't have a ton of money and my Phenom II x4 is more than ample for my current needs.

So... what I was thinking of doing was a gaming rig/daily driver. Enough power to play most games maxed out at slightly above 1080p.

Just like throwing parts together on newegg.

i5 with 16 GB of RAM? If you're doing the professional work that can take advantage of that much RAM, you'd probably want an i7. If you're just gaming, the i5 is a better choice, but then you could easily get away with only 8 GB of RAM.

No SSD?

mATX board in a full ATX case? Not an issue, but looks kinda strange having that small board in the bigger case..

i7 not perfectly stable at 4.4.. #firstworldproblems

Well if you were going to buy this i would say that 16gb is a bit much for just gaming and change the hard drive because iv'e heard that people are having a lot of issues with 4tb drives.

Also this isnt a big issue but why a mATX motherboard in a ATX case?

CPU: 6600K @ 4.6Ghz | COOLER: H100i GTX | MOBO: Asus Z170 AR | GPU: EVGA GTX 1080 Ti Hybrid | RAM: G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16GB |

CASE: Corsair 760T | PSU: Corsair RM750x | STORAGE: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB & Seagate 2TB | KEYBOARD: K70 RGB | MOUSE: Deathadder Elite

My dream build would be a 4960x, 8x4 gigs of kingston fury painted green and a titan black painted green in a green 450D (rest of components green) only reason i went blue is because it easier and cheaper :P

I would probably go down to 8GB of RAM, 16 is unnecessary for gaming. I would probably use a Mini ITX or Micro ATX case and motherboard to save space (unless this is designed for major upgrading potential later on), then use the money I saved from those two changes to add a small boot drive (ssd of course) and a good aftermarket cooler.

I've built 3 PC's, but none for myself... In fact, I'm using an iMac that my dad bought for me as my desktop. Awkward...

Please don't say "SSD drive." By doing so, you are literally saying "Solid State Drive Drive" and causing my brain cells to commit suicide. The same applies to HDD (Hard Disk Drive) and PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express).

IMO I'm a bit of a tab monkey like linus... so if I were to build it... I'd totally use 16GB. Or 12GB. I just couldn't use 8GB with a devil's canyon it doesn't seem right.

Fair enough, you know your computing needs better than anyone else.

Oh and BTW, have a foot: /)

Woah that HIS card looks soooooo dope!

HIS makes great stuff. Asus too and MSI too when it comes to GPUs.

But HIS actually has customer support staff with personalities. Contact them about an issue and they have a sense of humor and are knowledgable and are willing to do an RMA *snap* no issue.

Buddy of mine just got a 7770 and OC'ed it with no issues.

Another bud of my has a 7850 Double D that I OC'ed to 985 core and 1350 mem with no issues.

HIS card are done right IMO. I own an Asus AMD Radeon HD 6770 and I managed to fix some of the issues I had now it's like a dream.

*THESE ARE JUST OPINIONS*

Why not? I bet I could do one with an overclocked g3258, a reference r7 260x, and a 256GB SSD. That should do mavericks okay after a bit of fiddling.

Also gigabyte boards because those are the best with hackintoshes.
