A few days ago something on my computer started to act weird. Ever couple of second a little disc appears next to my mouse pointer. I don't know if some program is trying to run or not. I have nothing in the disc tray also. I did a system restore to a few days ago before the problem started and still nothing.

Is there anyway to narrow down which program is causing it?

Unless it's a virus or malware problem. I scanned the computer using Norton and found one Trojan and nothing else.

If you have Windows 8, it has the ability to mount iso's it could be trying to mount an iso.

If you have something like daemon tools or virtual clone drive these could be causing a similar problem.

Otherwise you can try unplugging the sata cable from the optical drive, It may be faulty and reporting there is a disc in the drive.

I don't have any ISO files on the computer, daemon tools or virtual clone

Thank you I will try to plug the drive.
