Hello! So I'm looking for a new gaming headset because my Kraken Pro's aren't living up to my expectation. So this is what I'm looking for in a gaming headset (or headphones).

(Order of most important to least important)

1: Comfort

2: Price

3: Wireless

4: Sound quality

4 Categories:

Affordable Wireless Headphones

Best Wireless Headphones

Affordable Wired

Best Wired

If someone could give me 4 names of headphones that meet those categories and is under preferably $300 that would be awesome.

Thanks!

4 categories in order of yours (I don't even have a chance to use any of those, I just throw them out in my personal taste after reading/watching reviews):

  • Corsair Vengeance 2100
  • Steelseries H-wireless
  • Logitech G230
  • Kingston HyperX Cloud

You got 300 USD to spare. That's not a bad idea. But I think it's kinda overpriced for what it brings to the table (that A50 looks cool to me though). Probably you've watched Linus's reviews about 3 wireless headsets including that A50 + Vengeance 2100 + H-wireless I guess :P. Glad that I can help :D, I hope I can spare money for a gaming headset to buy later on

Haha, working on it man xD I'm very glad that I can buy the HyperX Cloud off from some of my favorite game store just a few kilometers away from my home. That's pretty much the best thing you can get in terms of gaming headset (at least based on reviews - again, plus a lot of people here recommend it as well). Hope you can find the right one mate :D

Idk if people still do this or if its even allowed anymore, but headphones+mic will sound better, and if you want better positioning then open headphones will be really good for you. But, if you really want that wireless then I can't help you there.

What do you mean?

In terms of sound quality and price, you can get headphones that will sound better than headsets  but they will have to be wired, if you REALLY want wireless then go for a headset but unless you really need that functionality I wouldn't go for it.

What do you mean?

I guess he means by that you can get a discrete + good quality mic and use a higher quality wired headphones for better sound quality. Btw you mean the Audio Technica M50 ? I heard that Linus call it to be pretty good (but at the same time not extraordinary if I recall it correctly?)

I'm not that kind of an audio head so I don't care that much about sound quality, wireless is fine for me because of convenience

Ya I understand that, here how about I recommend something and you just consider it, you don't have to buy it :)

I don't know what your budget is, so I assume sub-100 and for that price I would get: Headphones and Mic

Here is a pretty in depth review on those headphones by ShearMe

Keep in mind that they are open which means that sound from outside will come in easier and sound from the inside will go out.

Yup, thats exactly what I meant and I didn't mean the M-50's in that post but depending on the OP's budget I will see what works for him, it would also bee good to know if he wants them to be bass heavy, if he is okay with open/closed, and what the budget actually is.

Open or closed doesn't matter. I like bass but f*ck Beats xD I like great sound but I don't really need them for gaming. I might go with M50's and also use them for music.

Since I've used quite a bit of Sennheiser's in-ear headphones and have a good experience with those, probably I can recommend you the HD518/HD558 because if I ever wanted to buy a good headphones those 2 are kind of my favorites as of now :P

LOL, I love that quote, ok so if you really like bass and you arn't using it for gaming, open headphones won't be your best bet. I would instead go with the Custom one Pro's (refurbished because its more worth it at that price). IT has the bass sliders so you can open them up whenever you want the most bass :D I also own them and I felt that they were really comfy after a while of breaking them in, that is just wearing them to get the headband to shift to fit my head.

Don't have a clue man since, of course, I don't own any of those headphones. But probably yes I think. I might have to rush into some headphone stores just to get the idea.
