Hi there!

So i'v been doing basically nothing with my life the last year and i figure it's time for me to get a job,
One of the jobs im interessted in is working with networking, not on a personal, appartment scale but more on a wan to global scale.

For example your network cuts out because of an earthquake,
Your gouverment needs new fiberoptic cables drawn from x to y

Annything relating to the actuall cables from point x to y basically.
But rather not on a personall indoor scale.

Where would i go to find out more about a job like this?
What kind of education would i need?
Where could i get a job like this?
What's that type of job even called?

Thanks in forehand =)

PS: Sorry for my horrible English

Communications Engineer? Do you mean you want to plan how to install the cables or do you actually want to install the cables yourself?

Intel i7 4790k / MSI Z97M / Hyper 212 Evo / MSI Twin Frozr GTX 770 / 16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz / Fractal Design Arc Mini R2 / Corsair CS750M / Samsung 840 Evo 250gb SSD /  WD Blue 1TB

First of all, take the CCNA test and try to get the certification.

CCNA stands for "Cisco Certified Network Associate". They're good for your specs if you want a job.

I got mine a few months ago and I'm interning as I've just graduated high school. I thought it was really fun, and as long as you're interested in networking, CCNA is definitely something I would recommend.

and your english is fine :)

I think there's a test in Stockholm?

You would need ccna and probably ccnp as ccnp would cover what your looking at.

If you can get hold of a copy of the Cisco packet tracer then you can start learning now by getting a book and doing it. There are also videos for Cisco stuff on YouTube.

You will need to learn all about the whole wan thing. Routing ie. OSPF BGP ERGIP. Fiber light tolerances etc.

There's alot to learn and the you have to prove you can do it by remembering it all :) Cisco are very picky in how you answer their exam questions
