Clean your 290s!

I took the shroud off my 290 today to clean some dust off than fan and was appalled by the build up on it. After cleaning, idle temps are down about 4 C.

 

Moral of the story: clean your GPUs

thats what happens when your gpu runs at 95c with 100% fan speed all the time.

Please do not put your gpu ON the anti static bag, as it's has the exact opposite effect.
The outside of the antistatic bag is not antistatic.

I dunno how you go to the toilet where you live...., but if thats your comparison, your doing it wrong.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

100% is unbearable.

I wasn't super concerned given the fact it needs to by RMA'ed for a memory issue anyways but, I was well grounded anyways.

All heatsinks tend to get like this. In general it's a good idea to clean your coolers regularly. I cleaned out my side PC the other day, and although the GPU heatsink wasn't too bad, my CPU cooler was caked in dust. I removed it completely and cleaned it with a vacuum cleaner and a paintbrush, but I understand this isn't always an option.
