Best value notebook

SnypeUXD

Hi guys, I've been looking for a new notebook for general use to replace my current old Late 2008 Macbook. It will mostly be used for school and maybe some light gaming. Do you guys have any recommendations?

Some requirements:

-Must not be a heavy notebook (as in, none of the Asus ROG stuff)

-14"-16" Form factor

-<2000$ (but if there is an exceptional notebook I'll take a look)

-SSD is preferable, but a 7200 RPM drive will do, no 5400 RPM drives

-At least 8 GB of RAM, personally I would use up 4 in an instant

-Keyboard must not be a stupid layout

-Quality screen

I know these are a lot of requirements, and they might even be unreasonable, but my dad is considering just getting me a Macbook Pro Retina (which isn't terrible, but I know there's a lot of options out there), and I just want to find out what my options might be.
