Desk Mods

HI, so I am wanting to do some "Mod's" to my desk/cupboard but don't know what is possible.

I am wanting to house my PC inside the desk and instead of cutting holes in the desk and having lots of ugly cables everywhere I want to put connection ports on the desk surface. I will have my monitor mounted on the wall when it arrives the pullout desk space is for when i am working on projects i have a anti static mat what fits on it.

​also if i can house the PC inside what should i do for cooling? I am looking forwards to your reply's and Help/advice.

Well I do have a cool idea for the pull out table part of your desk: put in some leds or cold cathodes with a limit switch in the circuit so that once you pull it out it illuminates.

As for everything else I'm not exactly sure what your looking for and I would be happy to help if you can elaborate.

0) Remove that shelf within the cabinet (if the PC is not a mini PC)

1) Follow linus' video for the cooling part, Try to find air flow spots on your cabinet, try an intake on the left and an out take on the back (to avoid the dust on the floor)

they vary depending on your need, try to find some on amazon, or your local electronics retailer =) then attach them to the back of your PC, there are premade USB to USB panel ones, but if you cant find any, just make your own =)

3) On the messy cables, you can't really avoid the one on the monitor, so just use those adhesive hooks (find ones that match your wall color) to line them up so they just make one line across the wall since you will mount it =)
