When do you think pascal will be released?

I hear from friends that pascal will supposedly be 20 times better than my Kepler 780. I was told not to buy the 880 because pascal is way better. What do you guys think I should do ? Wait for it?

Pascal attempts to unify memory between the CPU and GPU.

so it will likely require a new GPU (obviously), a Pascal-compatible CPU , and a Pascal-compatible motherboard with a proprietary socket.

all of which are likely to be intel and Nvidia exclusive.

It's at least 2-3 years away. If not that, 4 years.

So get 880? Single 4k display

So get 880? Resolution is 4k

I'm thinking pascal will arrive after the 900 series as a "groundbreaking 1000 series generation of revolutionary technology innovation"

Why not? There's no reason to upgrade from a 780 to an 880 because there won't be much of a performance change as the architecture is still 28nm.
