So I recently got an i7-3770k and I overclocked it to 4.5Ghz at 1.35V stable. However one core will not go below 36 celcius from the time I turn it on until I turn it off. It will sit at 36 degrees and NEVER goes BELOW IT. Can someone explain this to me. I'm using realtemp for temperatures.

Maybe the thermal paste isn't evenly spread, but 36 degrees is nothing to worry about. Also I believe 1.3 volts is the maximum safe voltage for Intel CPU's

wrong he has an lvy bridge so the maximan is 1.4 voltts

if i helped you and im right give me best answer ok  ;)

1.35 is more like the safe range, do a little more research,

use overclock.net and actually read through peoples logs.

chips at or above 1.4 degrade in 12 months on average

chips above 1.4 degrade in 12 months and die within 2 years on average.

chips at or below 1.35 do not.
