one program to test

is to use GPU-Z ID

is this just BF4?

test with Unigine Valley or Heaven

see the GPU load

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

Try using heaven or something like that while keeping an eye on MSI Afterburner for throttling.

gpu throttling doesnt happen until something seriously and i mean seriously goes wrong. when it does actually throttle, it doesnt stutter instead your fps tanks tremendously. i use to have a 8600gt and i was curious to compare cpu throttle temps to gpu throttle temps because my cpu at the time e2180 use to throttle at 72 C cpu die with 86 C on the cores due to not putting on the heatsink well so i went out and investigated it myself

when the cpu throttles, you will only see a fair change in performance (let's say from 60 fps to 45 fps). when the gpu throttles at 120 C, the the 60 fps wud change to 20 - 30 fps, its a real sudden slow down like your gpu popped out of the slot and the game immediately picked up running on the onboard gpu kind of crappy in performance. so some two cents on the real symptoms of gpu throttling for ya

System: Intel Core i3 3240 @ 3.4GHz, EVGA GTX 960 SSC 2GB ACX 2.0, 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 Kingston HyperX RAM, ASRock B75M-DGS R2.0 Motherboard, Corsair CX430 W Power Supply
