Best sub 300$ smartphone

Is the nexus 5 the king of this class or there are other good smartphones in this price range?? I am planning on buying one but i'm a little bit worried abou the poor battery and camera quality. I will using my smartphone especially for browsing and chatting.

Nexus 5, OnePlus One, Xiami Mi4, and the Moto X are your best options.

The only device I can really think of is the Moto G, but it's significantly lower end then the Nexus. The One plus one is also pretty nice, but it's difficult to get a hold of.

I'm guessing you're against Apple... the iPhone 5c is pretty much the same as the original iPhone 5 but much cheaper.

I think the prices you mentioned are contract prices, and I don't think he wants a contract.
