Hey guys! I'm thinking that I can get a better upgrade for my old computer by getting an old GPU.lol.

But I don't perfectly know which is a better one.

I surely don't want a bottleneck.

As of now, here are my specs. By next month (my birthday), I will be getting a GPU and some RAM.

CPU: Intel Celeron 420 @1.6 Ghz

MOBO: MSI G31TMP21

RAM: Kingston DDRII 2GB @400 Mhz Single Channel

GPU: As of no, it's just Intel HD Graphics

Sound: OnBoard

PSU: Some 450w PSU

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit

I think that is all what you'll need to get me one!

My budget  fluctuates.  It can be around 150$, or even 130$.

Just get me one that can play BF: BC2 at 45 FPS lol. (I'm just referring to it's POWER here)

Thanks..

EDIT: Sorry, forgot to mention .I may get a  Core 2 Quad from my uncle  :)

A celeron 420 @ 1.6GHz will be a bottleneck for damn near everything even remotely new.

how about a 750ti?

Forgot about that card. It is indeed slightly better than the R7 260X but not by much. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-video-card-02gp43753kr . THough the temperatures on the 750 Ti are lower.

You won't be playing anything with 2GB of RAM, at least AFAIK. I'm using 64 bit of Home Premium but still I've only got as few programs running and I'm at 2.56GB of RAM usage.

Really like @Erik4boss said you really need to just get a whole new PC.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Pentium G3220 3.0GHz Dual-Core Processor  ($54.99 @ SuperBiiz)

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H81-D3 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($62.00 @ Amazon)

Memory: Corsair XMS3 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR3-1333 Memory  ($34.99 @ Newegg)

Total: $151.98

Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

That is really rudimentary but imo quite a bit better than what you have atm.

CPU: Intel i7 8700K | CPU Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3 | RAM: Kingston HyperX 2x8GB | Motherboard: Asus ROG Z370-E | GPU: MSI GTX 970 | HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB & 2TB | SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB & 970 EVO M.2 500GB | Case: Phanteks Enthoo Evolv X | PSU: Silverstone Platinum Strider 1100W | Monitor: AOC i2367Fh | Headphones: ATH-M40X | Mic: Antlion ModMic 4 | Keyboard: Corsair K70 RGB w/ MX Browns | Mouse: Logitech G502 HERO

Sorry to come of as a dick, but this build is in need of some serious ramifications to make it run remotely good. :(

I'm sure this is the last thing you want to hear but as others have mentioned your best bet is to save up and get a new PC. You'll be throwing money away by upgrading that system. You can build a decent budget system for around $600-700.

CPU: AMD 5950X    MB: Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero    RAM: HyperX Predator 64GB    GPU: Nvidia RTX 3090 Ti FE    SSD: Seagate FireCuda 530 2TB
PSU: EVGA 1200w P2    COOLING: EK AIO Elite 360    CASE: Fractal Design Torrent
DISPLAY: LG CX48 4k OLED    AUDIO: HIFIMAN Arya SE

More like 300W. Did you get that confused with the 780 Ti?

Anyway, just save up for a new system. 2GB RAM isn't nearly enough anymore, DDR2 is too expensive to be worth upgrading, and even a Core 2 Quad is on;y just decent enough, depending on which one.
