also are you sure you put the cpu in the right way,all the way?

 

when you say it won't start up what do you mean?

 

do the case fans spin up?

does it not just not post to the monitor?

does the gpu fan spin up?

Hey guys,

 

So my friend bought new pc and asked me to assemble it. I assembled the components but computer wont start. Power supply works tested with multimeter, led on mother boards lights up and triple checked the cables. I don't know what's wrong with it.

 

The components:

MSI Z77A-GD65

Intel® Core™ i5 3570K

Noctua NH-U9 "Special Edition SE2"

G.Skill PC3-14900 "RipJawsX" KIT 8gb 1866 MHz DDR 3

EVGA GeForce GTX 660 "SuperClocked" 2 gb gddr 5

tosiba 1tb 

Thermaltake Commander ms 1

 

Gigabyte Superb 720W

Any help i can get i would appreciate.

check the motherboard manual to make sure you have the ram in the rite slots for first boot.

any error code on mother board.

double check .and make sure all cables plugged in..

like the power for video card.

and case wires

 

if you can not get it to post

pull mother board out of system. and do a bench start up.to test.

Any signs of activity besides the LED? Do the fans start up? Any speaker error codes? Try with no video card at first, using the MB´s video.
