I have recently started geting into more video editing and i need more ram. I have 8 gigs now and in after effects it is always full. Actually i havent given too much thought into ram so im kind of a noob. my ram is corsair vengence 2x4GB at 1600MHz and i want to get an 8 gig upgrade. Also i have win7 home premium so i really cant get anything more. If i cant find the same dimms what should i buy a vengeance 2x4 non low profile, if i cant find the same clock speeds is there any problem there and how do the dual channel work i have z77 board? sorry if im asking stupid questions :P like i said i havent given too much thought in RAM :P

Maybe you should try different colours for example say you had the red versions you could buy the black versions. Anyone have an idea why ram prices have increases. I could get 16gb for £45 before and now 8gb is around £50.

A new 8GBx2 kit is your answer.  Kingston, Corsair, Mushkin, G.Skill, Patriot, they all work great.  As for price jumps, the 32GB kit I purchased in April is still the same cost today as it was then.
