So I've gone through a few various builds and I think I've found what I want to build, but thought I'd check in here first! Mainly use is gaming, such as BF4, ArmA 3, Crysis 3,

DayZ. Would be nice if someone could double check compatibility, don't overly trust these websites yet!

Case:        Corsair Carbide SPEC-03

CPU:         Intel i5 4670K

GPU:         R9 280X Sapphire Dual-X OC 3gb

RAM:         2x4gb Kingston 1600Mhz DDR3

HDD:         Seagate 1TB

PSU:         Corsair CX600 (600W)

MOBO:     MSI Intel H97M-G43

OS:          Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

At a later date I may think about purchasing an SSD alongside some sort of cooling, maybe water cooling. (not overclocking anytime soon).

Also get a Z97 Mobo for when you do and 600 watts is overkill you could go by with 500 watts

Get a 4690k instead of the 4670k.

Looked up benchmarks and 4690k was BARELY any better for £30 more.

A Z97 for when I do what? And I'd rather be safe than sorry with PSU :) I do know it's a little overkill though!

Getting a 4690K over the 4670K is not for performance per se, but rather for the overclocking potential since it has better TIM and across the board they have better consistent/reliable overclocks.

Ah okay, I thought they were around the same price, you should be fine then.

Apparently I can't read :) It's £10-12 more which isn't so bad, so i've changed it to the 4690k. Also read that the H97 doesn't OC? Not too sure but swapped that in for a Z97X, £20 more. Annoying that there aren't any Z97 boards under £100 with a DPort, that's what attracted me to the H97!

What do you need a display port in your motherboard for? You will not be able to use it unless you take your graphics card out. Also doesn't that graphics card already have a display port? And yeah, I think you're right on the H97 not being able to overclock.
