Hey all!
i've noticed lately that my computer watch kind of felt behind, and lately whenever my computer turns off, the clock is standing still.

The little battery on the mobo is what handles the clock when the computer is turned off, right?

Then i am pretty sure my battery is dead, which is likely with a 3 year old mobo which have been used a lot!

But, i don't really mind my clock being wierd, but does the battery power other things?

basically should i replace my battery, even if i don't need the clock on  my computer?

Thanks in advance :)

When in doubt: C4

that battery not only powers the clock

it allows the BIOS hold the CMOS settings
