Is GPU sag bad?

1-800-Taco

I just noticed that my graphics card dips a little bit in one corner, is this bad?

Nothing serious, only an aesthetic issue really, it's very common and is just an inherent situation that comes of how GPUs are fitted into an a standard ATX PC case.

Backplates will help prevent it, as it increases the rigidity of the PCB.

Won't cause damage but it would drive me nuts because it looks horrible. I'd murder somebody if couldn't fix it.

if it sags to the point that the PCB or heatsink become bent out of shape, it might look ugly, but not really bad for performance

As the others say it's not bad (unless it's in the extreme where you actually fear it will break off the PCB socket), it just looks pretty damn terrible. My old 580 DCUII does it and that's still running stronng even though it'll soon be 4 years old.

My PCS+ sags even with the backplate so I used zip ties to pull it up and chained them up to the tubes for my h100i :P

Through the holes in the backplate and the shroud
