Hello,

I've been getting the 'Blue' screen a lot recently but I only get it when I run my games such as World of Warcraft and Call of Duty Black Ops II. I've updated my graphics drivers & I've attempted to install a fresh copy of Windows 7 but I'm not been giving the option to 'boot from CD'.

Any advice is welcome.

Thanks

What ever the issue with the Blue  screen turns out to be booting to a Cd/DVD could be an important asset in its troubleshooting . Do you know how to enter your BIOS and change the boot drive options ? If so, make the First boot drive your CD/DVD. Your BIOS may also give you the option to boot to a USB, make that your second boot option. Test that it works. Could you provide your system specs ? Thanks..I hope we can help.. :)

the bsod is unlikley to do with the boot order. but you can go into bios and change it so the hdd or ssd is the primary boot and the cd/dvd/br as a latter option.

as for the bsod itself. you can do 2 things. download nirsofts bluescreen viewer. look at the dmp logs your usual way.

personally i prefer bluescreen viewer as the layout is simple enough to quickly show you what you need to start googling.

you can also just wait for the bsod and write down the 0x000000 error number and error descriptor text. you can post it back here or look it up yourself on the m.s knowledge base.

He mentioned the Boot Order because TS said "but I'm not been giving the option to 'boot from CD'.".

IMO BlueScreen Viewer works as a charm in 9/10 cases.

Let me be a little clearer..the boot order is not the cause of the blue screen..but in order to run memory test ..a system that will boot to a CD/DVD/USB will be needed..setting that up is something that can and should be done prior to anything else.It also may still be a driver/errant software problem..being able to boot a virus scanner or diagnostic software may be needed..What is the motherboard make and model.?

It's an Asus motherboard but I'm unsure on the model.

These could point to a bad DIMM or a GPU driver error or a OS hiccup.I suspect it is a bad DIMM.  But a driver error cannot be ruled out. Lets try to isolate the driver . Remove the GPU driver using Driver Sweep http://www.guru3d.com/content_page/guru3d_driver_sweeper.html

Do not install any other GPU drivers Let us know how this goes..Thanks  :)
