Hi, I've looked up about this problem a lot over the past year+ but found nothing that helped so I just left it alone. Thought I'd try here aswell just incase though. Last year I got an AMD FX 6100 and OC'd it to 4ghz or so, it was working fine for a few hours while playing a game then all of a sudden my pc turned off, no BSOD. I turned it back on and it wouldn't get past the windows boot screen, I tried memtest, no problem there. I reseated the CMOS battery and it booted. Then I tried OCing again but it didn't boot when I OC'd anything higher than 3.5ghz, that's only a 200mhz OC...

I've tried putting the cpu voltage up and that only got me to about 3.6ghz on 1.4v+ which seems way too high for 300mhz to me. Since this happened I've bought a new Motherboard and this lets me OC to 3.6ghz on stock voltage, but it still needs 1.425v+ to get to 3.8ghz and I have no idea why. If I try going any higher it'll boot for a few minutes then my pc will just crash, sometimes the PC will just lock up and I can't do anything, other times it'll BSOD. Was wonder if anyone knew what was wrong? I figured my cpu was burnt out or something from the first OC I did? Never heard of this happening though because my CPU works fine I just can't OC.
