~£500-£600 Intel Pentium G3258 Build

Zaaraus

I recommend if you can get a board that is Asus or Gigabyte at the same price do that instead.  Also for the psu go with Antec or SeaSonic.  The odds of finding a SeaSonic cheap are not good but Antec psus often go on sale.  In regards to the cooler you picked a very popular choice.  There is nothing wrong with that.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

No reason. MSI is perfectly fine.

I would, however, aim for a cheaper case--NZXT Source 210, and a cheaper psu,an EVGA 500w or Corsair CSM550. Then get an r9 280.

EDIT: YOU SHOULD GET A Z97 BOARD SINCE Z87 WILL REQUIRE A BIOS UPDATE FOR G3258 (to update the bios you either need a usb-flashable bios--ASUS, or a cpu that will work on z87)

Would it be better to have separate SSD and HDD, or a hybrid drive like I have listed?

Well... you kinda missing the point here, a hybrid SSHD will perform better than an HDD, but slower (way slower) than an SSD since it's basically an HDD with a big cache, so the point of getting a seperate SSD is to only install the OS and maybe a few (1 or 2 at most) program that can benefit from running on SSD on the SSD, and the rest just leave it on the HDD, that way your boot up time will be alot faster and the rest the HDD can handle. just get a good HDD with 7200rpm and you are fine.
