Ok so recently i upgraded my fans on my pc to Noctua's and they have worked great since. However i did take it apart a few days ago to give the system a good clean.

Now when i shut down my pc it seems that windows shuts down just fine but the rest of the components in the case keep running including the Mobo, H100i and all the fans, but there is no HDD activity.

Anyone out there who has had similar problems or could advise me what to do?

i7 3770k

Asus p8 z77-v pro (mobo)

corsair cx750 psu

Maybe when you took the system apart, you put something back in the wrong place.  Changing the fans won't cause this, to my knowledge.

I know it sounds terrible, but perhaps taking the whole thing apart and putting it all back together might fix it (double checking every cable placement).

Are the fans plugged into the motherboard or the H100i?  If they're plugged into the H100i, try plugging them into the motherboard headers before disassembling the whole system.

Isopropyl alcohol is all you need for cleaning CPU's and motherboard components.  No, you don't need [insert cleaning solution here].  -Source: PhD Student, Chemistry

^^^^^^^^ Plus one to that. What you are describing can sometimes be caused by a cable being plugged in incorrectly.

well this was my first build so it could be me plugging something into the wrong port. As for the fans i had to plug them into the motherboard as the ones with the h100i where 3pin ill post an update tomorrow to see if it has solved the problem, just as a side note should i worry about AI suite 2 telling me my fans are running bellow 500rpm and that the motherboard is -1.0 degree?

The fans running below 500 rpm is less concerning.

The motherboard at -1 degree is more concerning.  See if fiddling with the cable plugins fixes that value.  I don't know what could be causing that.  Something has clearly gone wrong.
