Planning my build, I ran into a few things that might crush my balls. So, I'll ask the questions I have on them.

  1. How long is the H80i Corsair Link cable (in feet)?
  2. Would putting my wireless card under my bottom graphics card (when I do Crossfire) hurt the temps too badly?
  3. How good is the sound on my motherboard compared to a SoundBlaster Z (OEM)?

2 Depends, is it directly there? Like no slots in between? What GPU cooler? How long is the wireless card?

3 YOur MB is fine.

There would be no slots in between, Gigabyte Windforce 7950, and no longer than the end of the PCIe x1 slot it will occupy. Not sure what you mean with "is it directly there."

if you have the soundcard laying around. use it. if not put that money into a better gpu/cpu

I hate, I mean hatttttttttte soundcard software. it's so annoying.

All this stuff is being donated to me.

Reason being, my grandma's computer has terrible audio. Absolutely terrible. You can't have it any higher than 70% volume (software) or the sound quality deteriorates very rapidly after that.

1. ~1ft

2. Not much but if the card is large it might be better to see if you can move it.

3. Your Mobo is good enough audio that you wouldn't notice much of a difference.

My System Specs: (Short list) i7 4770k, GTX 780, many SSD's, a 2 TB HDD(deceased :( ), Corsair 650D. Full list: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/kchriz6097/saved/8dh7YJ

Upgrade Plan: Acquire some Black Noctuas then add 16 or 32GB of 2133MHz memory

This is one of the few cases I would say use a soundcard. The only reason to ever use a soundcard is if your audio is fucked up like that.

Granted, this board does have good audio, but my grandma's is absolutely atrocious.

Also, two more things on the H80i.

  1. Is there a longer Corsair Link cable, or will I have to get an extension?
  2. Where should I put the pump on the CPU fan headers (CPU_FAN or CPU_OPT)?

1: IDK about that one

2:Don't bother about it too much

3:Onboard Audio SNR is usually 82-95 max sound card is supposed to have over 102 or above, so soundcard is going to sound good actually, but depends on your ears, i've sometimes found that for headsets mobo out was way batter bassy (as in loudness) but you have to see it for yourself..

Details separate people.

2. I have a windforce card and a soundcard right under that gpu, temps went up like 3c max, not that bad but I would say my case has decent airflow so your results may vary

1. search the corsair website

2.as long as the fans are pwm and the slots are pwm then it probably won't matter. :)
