I want to build a PC to use for gaming with a budget of $1100. I would prefer to buy everything from Amazon.

This is my parts list so far:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-4570 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($189.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: Asus H97M-E Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($98.24 @ Amazon)
Memory: Kingston Fury Black Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  ($76.99 @ Amazon)
Storage: A-Data Premier Pro SP600 128GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($64.99 @ Amazon)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($49.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card: Gigabyte Radeon R9 280X 3GB WINDFORCE Video Card  ($299.99 @ Amazon)
Case: Corsair 350D Window MicroATX Mid Tower Case  ($99.99 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: Corsair CX 600W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply  ($64.99 @ Amazon)
Monitor: Dell S2340M 60Hz 23.0" Monitor  ($144.99 @ Amazon)
Wireless Network Adapter: TP-Link TL-WDN4800 802.11a/b/g/n PCI-Express x1 Wi-Fi Adapter  ($37.72 @ Amazon)
Keyboard: Cooler Master CM Storm Devastator Gaming Bundle Wired Gaming Keyboard w/Optical Mouse  ($29.99 @ Amazon)
Other: Windows 8.1 Pro ($69.99)
Total: $1227.86
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

I would like to get the price down to about $1100 without sacrificing much performance.

Go with a cheaper H87 motherboard rather than H97, http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-h87mpro4 for example.

Other than that, you can choose cheaper versions of everything you posted, but then you risk dealing with a less-than-highest-rated company. (like, you could get a mushkin SSd, go with some weird color ram, HIS GPU, etc).

Do you need wireless? Gaming on wireless is less than great in general, so, you could get a 100ft ethernet cord for $15 instead of the 37 for a wireless card.

I would reccomend a 550W GOLD rated, like http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-power-supply-cs550m. Supposedly the CSM has better innards than the CX too.

You could try finding a 7970 that wasn't used for mining on the used market. That'd shave ~$160 off your cost.

Honestly you're already pretty close to the bottom unless you want to switch over to AMD, or ditch the SSD.

"Okay" Build But Would Recommend switching out your SSD and HDD for a Single SSHD

like This: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/seagate-internal-hard-drive-st1000dx001 (you just saved a lot of Money and start saving up for the SSD if you want to)

a Hybrid Gives you the Speed of a SSD with the Capacity of and HDD It Prioritizes your most used apps to run like "SDD Speeds" During loading

I would Recommend switching out your RAM with these Pair of Bad Boys: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gskill-memory-f38500cl7d8gbrl

They Have The CAS of 7!!

I Love Dogs and Video Editing
