After doing detailed research into finding the best parts I would need for a $1000Gaming pc build (including hours of playing around with PcPartPicker) I still can't find the sweet spot at which I can easily fit a good quality keyboard and windows 8.1. I plan on mostly gaming and usually don't do video editing and rendering. I also will try and do a light, stable overclock. I don't have any issues with AMD cpu's (since I haven't owned one before and can't make a solid opinion) so if one of them makes sense, suggest away.

I also live in Dubai so will have to see if I can get these parts at my local store called al ain centre. They usually have the latest products available.

Os: Win 8.1

KB: doesn't matter as long as it fits the budget and is of reasonable quality

Any help is appreciated,

Thanks in advance

I think he needs/wants Windows 8.1 and needs a good keyboard included too. It is in dollars so I am guessing USA, don't know if a Micro Center is nearby. However, I could be wrong. So many noobs... <_<

I should be studying.

There needs to be a test before you can post in this section just so the original post can be formatted that we don't have to ask questions just to answer. :P

The 'read before posting' thread NEEDS to be more noticeable. I don't know how, but they need to make it so it's impossible for someone new to post here without reading that. Pretty much every first few replies to these topics has to be about gathering the info that the OP didn't give out.

We should really use a format similar to what r/buildapcforme uses.

I should be studying.

Why such a large PSU, like there's no way he would be able to do crossfire/SLI. A quality 550W unit would b fine, and he would be able to get overclocking parts, And seriously? No SSD?

within budget, and it selected a 550w modular on pcpartpicker and this was the cheapest out off all the psu's within that wattage range

This is really the best I could get, in terms of OC options (and keeping price down). Your first upgrade should definitely be an SSD when you have the cash.

Motherboard: MSI Z97 PC MATE ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($99.99 @ Newegg)

Case: Corsair 300R ATX Mid Tower Case  ($59.99 @ Micro Center)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit)  ($89.98 @ OutletPC)
Total: $1030.00

Could I instead get a 500GB HDD and pair it with a 120GB SSD? I don't use that much memory since I don't have a large collection of videos, pictures or music. The only thing that takes up most of my memory is my game collection which include GW2, LoL, Runescape, Far Cry 3, BF4 etc...

The price difference isn't enough to justify cutting storage in half. Unless the prices in your area are fucked.

I live in Dubai and the local store that sells the hardware has shops where I can get a pretty good discount if I buy the whole package from one shop.
