1. Updated drivers. If you're brave enough, try some beta drivers.

2. There are two or more places to enable v-sync. There's one in your graphics card settings menu, one usually in most game settings, and sometimes one somewhere else (I can't think of any more, but look around)

Your system is totally capable going by your specs.

Here are some things you could try from the top of my head:

  • Uninstall them and reinstall the drivers, could have just been a dodgy install.
  • If the game is on Steam you could try verifying game cache which seems to be a "Fix" button these days.
  • Go into the Nvidia control panel to see if any global settings related to refresh rate, V-sync or anything have been set.
  • Have a look at the "Advanced Monitor Settings" by going to Control Panel > Change Screen Resolution > Advanced Settings > Monitor Tab. From here you can tweak the refresh rate of your monitor, maybe it's set to something weird.
  • Finally, you could try uninstalling and reinstalling the entire game as a last nothing-else-is-working-so-bugger-it resort

In Precision X, set frame rate target to your monitors refresh rate. Helped me a lot.
