Overclock Question

Go to solution Solved by Sauron,

TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION, leave it as it is. The cpu will run at whatever frequency is needed in the fixed interval (which in this case is 1400mhz to 4.5ghz) and will speed up to max speed when needed, it's a power saving feature and it won't negatively impact your performance.

Hello Everyone!

Just curious to know if anyone can tell me if the bar should be set at 4.5Ghz to always run at 4.5Ghz or should it be left alone how it is at the current moment.

Here's the picture.

Thanks for the help!

ADATA XPG 256GB PCIe| Cosmos C700P CM | Lepa MaxPlatinum 1050W

Dont OC via software.... EVER!

do it in the BIOS or not at all.

I Used AMD Overdrive but It doesn't give me any option on cpu power.

It run's stable and at a good temp.

I didn't see any problems doing it.

lots of things, its just bad... for instance it wont give you control over Vcore voltage. or any C-states/or load line calibrations. OCing in the bios is just better in every way and gives you more fine control.

Also using AI suite III, it won't even save my settings or load them on start-up. I use the bios from now on. I got 4.7-4.8 on 4790k

The MSI Bios is sorta weird to play around with.

AMD overdrive was easier and worked fine for me.

yep AI Suite is also garbage... uninstall it. When I OC'd it was reporting my +12 dropping down to -voltage... if that was true then my pc would turn off lol haha :P
