I have just upgraded my pc. But I am on a tight budget and don't want to upgrade my old unknown brand 500W PSU with 360w 12V rail.

I used calculator from OP sticky. It says 368w is recommended. But I am scared of the gpu I am about to buy because it is demanding.

So the full build would be

Mobo: asus A78M-A

Cpu: amd Athlon x4 760k 3.8 Ghz plan to OC to 4.2

Ram: Corsair 2x4GB 1600Mhz CL11

GPU: saphire radeon r9 270x 2GB

1 750GB 7200rpm HDD

1 120GB SSD

2x 120mm fans 1x80mm fan

Front case card reader, no extra devices just USB mouse and keyboard maybe USB flash. And USB headphones.

So should I upgrade and if I should does Corsair cs550m would do the trick or is it overkill and I could get a cheaper one.

the fact that it is a crappy brand makes it bad and not reliable, i could have gone with a 2170 only my psu wattage, but that does not credit reliability, i suggest get a 500w + upgrade and upgrade your gpu

@babbaj There are two on that list I disagree with.

NZXT has some unimpressive v2 units, but the Seasonic and Superflower non-v2 units are decent, and even the worst they offer is better than Deer and Hyena units.

Rosewill offers several good series, including the Capstone and Capstone-M series by Superflower.

Also, why is Raidmax highlighted? The OP didn't mention his power supply was a Raidmax unit.

i think i might be confused with another thread or something, OP asked why raidmax was bad
