Hello, I need help picking Ram for my new build. I will be using a Asus Maximus VI Formula and I want to have 16GB of ram. I just need help picking the right speed for my Build.

Maximus = Z series chipset. 6= 87

Z87 chipset gets the most out of 1866 MHz RAM. Look for CL9 timings.  :)

Just get some CL9 timing RAM that's clocked at 1600MHz, Corsair and Kingston (there are a plethora of other very well known brands too)have good options, just go for what you like best or whatever is cheaper with those specs in mind.

Hey there!

I would be using 1600mhz XMS3 16GB. My absolute favourite ram! You don't need to spend big money on a fancy dominator if its going to be useless. This RAM is maybe $200 and runs beautifully. Depending on what GPU, CPU, and Motherboard you have the dominators probobly isn't your right choice. Go with XMS, they are a Mid range spec piece of ram, and do the job perfecto. Just make sure you have top cooling because they do heat up. Im guessing you are using the system for gaming? Or low media production? 16GB is more than enough. So check these out and it will really make you happy, money well spent and I'm sure you will be pleased with the results! :D
