Hello,

I have a few problems with my new computer.

Assassin's Creed 4 just stops responding after I play it for a while (and won't launch again until I've rebooted) and Rome Total War 2 just won't let me get past the main menu. Besides these two games I've only tried Skyrim, Battlefield 4 and Thief so far. I haven't had enough time to test more games yet.

I installed Speccy to check my RAM speed (which wasn't correct, but I fixed that) and I also came across this:

KjEnXcT.png

What seems weird to me in this picture is the performance levels stuff in the bottom.

My GPU is clocked at 1,085GHz (1.150GHz Boost) while the highest level is only at 549MHz.

Also, the memory clock should be a 7000Mhz, rather than 3500Mhz.

I have looked through the settings, but I couldn't find any settings related to these levels. In the BIOS I didn't see any options for it either (does not mean it isn't there at all, in my case :D).

This is my computer:

CPU: I7 4770k

Motherboard: Asus ROG Maximus VII Hero

GPU: Gigabyte GTX 780 Ti GHz edition

RAM: G.Skill TridentX F3-2133C9D

PSU: Corsair AX860

SSD: Samsung 840 EVO (250GB)

HDD: Seagate Barracuda (3TB)

My question is if this is normal and if not how could I fix it and could it be related to the crashes of those games?

Regards,

Pim

That's because you were most likely running that test programme at idle. Run the test while you play a game then check your max figures.

try running Ungine

it will ramp up the GPU clock on load

use GPU-Z ID to check the load and temps

Just ran Unigine with all the settings maxed out, but both Speccy and CPU-Z report that the GPU Clock is 549 MHz and that the Memory CLock is 3500 MHz.

how about using MSI AfterBurner?

update your nVidia drivers if you have not done so

Don't forget that programs will show the memory speed at half of what it's actually at..

Yeah... I forgot about that... Right after finding that out when I was playing around with my RAM speed...

Seemed fine then... Still not a solution for all those random crashes :S

I've tried nVidia's 377.88 (WHQL) and a few beta drivers after. Since the last beta driver I tried, but now GeForce Experience is not working anymore, so that's a bit annoying.

I contacted Ubisoft's support about AC4 crashing, but none of their solutions has worked so far.
