Using Windows 8.1 and I wanna watch a movie on dvd

As the title might suggest I'm looking for the best media player to play the dvd movies either from my own collection or Red Box. Any Suggestions?

VLC is hands-down the best media player there is.  Plays almost every single codec in existence.

my biggest issue with VLC is the sub and sound track control, if you view dubbed or multi subbed content

Correct me if I'm wrong but dubbing and subbing is what happens in something like an animae where there is a voice over done in a different language than the original and subtitles are added. Yes? If so, I may see an animae now and then but it's not an everyday thing.

You can play literally anything with that program, it's free too.

Is there a central linux site from whick to get VLC off of? I'm still learning my way around and am not terribly familiar with a lot of the stuff outside the mainstream big company world.
