I have been looking for a 1440p display for a while now. The Asus PB278q was my obvious first choice but still a little to expensive. After doing from research I found korean panels but have been reluctant to buy one. Then I find an Acer panel. No foreign nonsense, and can get it straight from a reputable dealer. But why is it so cheap? Even more so then a korean panel? I haven't been able to find much at all about it online apart from some detail and spec pages and a video or 2 on YouTube. Which is why I turned to the forums. Does anyone have this panel or have experienced it? Should I be worried about reliability and longevity?

Which model is it? acer monitors are very reliable, i have one that has been around for years

Where are you from? what is your budget?

I use an AOC one and it is just as good as the ASUS IMO and was much cheaper in the UK for me

DGM also make a cheap 1440p panel that uses the same LG IPS panel the apple display uses and comes with warranty (if its available where you are from)

Should be fine, the main reason it is cheap is the stand is a bit naff, with little to no adjustment and very plasticky

The panel is good though :) good price if you ask me

I've only had one Acer monitor, the H213H, and it was a bad panel. There was like a foggy coating on the monitor that resulted in the colors looking really dull, and the blacks looked grey-ish. If you scroll down on the page you linked and look at the Acer ComfyView picture, the image was similar to the glare side, though not as extreme. I bought that monitor a few years ago so I'm not sure if they've improved in quality, also I bought one of the lower end models. It was reliable though, never had any problems other than the dull colors. I didn't realize how bad it was until I got a new monitor a couple days ago. I wouldn't recommend Acer.

And yeah you linked a 1080p monitor.

EDIT: Wait. On the overview tab, it says 1080, but on the specs tab it says 1440...hmm.

That's 1080p, not 1440p.

EDIT: That newegg page is stupid, it says WQHD and full hd 1080p on the same page...... Seems like it is 1440p, but screw that product page.

I think you'll find it to be 1440p if you take a peek at the specs of it on that page. ;)

ON A 7 MONTH BREAK FROM THESE LTT FORUMS. WILL BE BACK ON NOVEMBER 5th.

It's for sure 1440p. There is a guy who put a video on YouTube just as a "here it is" kinda thing. I'm just wondering why it's so cheap.

Yes it is. Sorry for the confusion, but that product page clearly said 1080p...... Anyway, the stand doesn't seem to be anything special, so that's already a decent reduction in price. VA panels are also cheaper than most IPS IIRC.

I think you'll find it to be 1440p if you take a peek at the specs of it on that page. ;)

It still shouldn't say 1080p on the very first page of the product, it's stupid.
