Broken Galilei thermometer.

Does anyone know if the clear liquid inside one of these thermometers is toxic? it is an oilish substance, I just dont know how to test whether it is a non-toxic mineral oil or paraffin or some sort. It definitely smells "a lot" but ventilation helps. I have been exposed, also as we speak, for more than 24 hours without problems.

@naweo I believe they are ethanol, petroleum and water inside, so you should be safe

We survived mercury thermometers getting broken, surely we can deal with ethanol...

I'd hate for mine to break since my older cousin gave it to me a few years ago. That has been my fear.
