I prefer the first one. Psu is fine for both.

They are both good systems for the tasks you need it to do...

I don't see monitors in the first setup though.. Do you need new ones or do you already have them?

I would suggest a number of changes ;) .

It is perhaps overkill but the budget will take an i7-4930K and the extra power will deliver a very responsive system for many years.

A Kraken X61 cooler as it can be very quiet while delivering excellent cooling.

The Asus P9X79-LE motherboard because it is a well priced X79 motherboard with all the features this build needs.

Different storage units that are more reasonably priced with real world performance very close to those in the OP builds.

The blue/black H440 because it looks good and conforms to the build's color scheme. It has to be ordered directly from Nzxt.

A GTX 780 Ti which should be more than enough. But if it isn't a second one can be added.

An excellent quality 850W psu. Allows for SLI and will efficiently deliver clean power to all components.

The Windows 8.1 Pro version offers Remote Desktop, BitLocker, and the ability to join a domain. Unless you need one of these features the regular version should be more than sufficient.

Finally, IPS monitors for better color reproduction and wider viewing angles.

I second this build but I'd get a 290x lightning because it'll beat out most 780ti's for almost 100 less (not in this case it's the same price). I'd also get a samsung 840 evo over anything as its 129 most of the time. I'd go with a better mobo because it fits the budget. Get build in the quote though.

And also maybe get ah h320 from ncix. Its 144.,I have it on my 4790k and an x61 on a 4690k. They are great but the 320 is a monster.
