I've also seen acouple 270x's for cheaper than the 270

Seems good. You can get a 430 / 450w PSU and use the saved money on a 270x. Not sure if it will bottleneck tough.

Aren't the R9 270 and the R9 270x the GPU, just that the 270x is clocked higher?
