Deafening Static Sound

Hello, I have a Logitech G35 Headset http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-7-1-Channel-Surround-Sound-Headset/dp/B001O5CCQK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1405272041&sr=8-1&keywords=logitech+g35 and occasionally while doing anything involving audio I come across a DEAFENING static noise. It's so loud I'm AFRAID to wear my headphones because it makes my heart leap whenever it happens. My audio drivers are up to date and I've tried multiple USB ports. Any ideas as to the cause of this issue or a possible solution? Thanks

EDIT: But on a serious note, I'll ask a friend who has that headset. She said she had a problem with it before (I don't remember what it was) and ended up fixing it somehow.
