780ti Fan Curve Ideas

Henleyz

Just looking for the best fan curve for my Windforce 780ti, basically right now I don't have any curve at all, I'm just looking for the right one that covers cooling and silence, I have no idea on which way to go about it, so what do you have?

I'd go for as low as possible untill it reaches 65 degrees and then as low as possible while maintaing sub 75 degrees.

As long as you aren't doing any overvolting, you could just leave the default fan curve, unless the card overheats..

I used to use a very low fans speed until 60 - 70 C and then from there linear to max temps - 80% fan speed.

Low as possible as in say like 20 percent fan speed then once it reaches 65 degrees just have it ramp up to like 70 percent?

Not even overclocked at the moment, running heaven the max I have seen it reach on auto fan speed is 77 degrees

77 degrees is a perfectly fine temperature... Personally I don't like my parts running really hot too, but with 77C, you can be very comfortable. You don't have to worry about it.

Good to hear then, just thought it would help a bit with a fan curve, idle I think it sits at 48 degrees

Well, if you really want to have a custom fan profile: Download MSI Afterburner (if you haven't got it already), go to Settings, Fan Profile or something like that, and you have a very simple graph with the temperature and fan speed. Try out different fan speeds on your card and check what's best for you. :)

Yeah I've been messing around with it the last few hours, nothing set in stone yet though, was looking for some pictures of others to see the proper way to go about it :P

I've set my fan-profile quite linear with the temperature, which keeps the chip nice and cool, didn't do overclocking yet though (the cards factory overclocked).

So the fan is usually working 32% idle which is minimum and like 50-60% under gaming load, sometimes a bit more. It's an ACX-cooler and it's not very loud at higher RPMs, so that doesn't bother me really - although i'm asking myself if this makes any sense as the card could go higher in the temps without danger and i'm wondering if the Fans will wear out much faster if they use to go at 50-70% most of the time the computer's running?

What du you think? Using Afterburner btw.

I can't talk for others but without my fan curve set at all, mine is pretty much like yours, while just browsing the web and watching movies my fan speed is on auto and sitting around the 20-30 percent range, then when I game for hours it sits around the 40-70 percent range I'm pretty sure, but of course if they are always at 50-60 percent thy will wear out faster than been at 20 percent, you will get a few years though :P

Does anyone have any other curves that they can show?
