So my desktop has been freezing randomly for a while now. It mostly freezes when I'm gaming though there have been times when it froze when I was watching a video on Youtube and sometimes it just freezes even when I'm not doing anything though that rarely happens. Did about 10 passes with memtest but nothing turned up. So now I'm not sure where to go from here.

Games that I was playing when it froze:

Skyrim
Tried playing with and without graphical mods, can go for a day or two where there would be no freezes then there would be times where it will freeze 2 or more times consecutively for both situations.

Diablo 3

I mostly play with a video streaming in the background, usually there is no problem though it would freeze randomly from time to time but yesterday, it froze twice within a 10min interval.

There was also an MMO that I used to play which was called Eden Eternal. Funny thing about that was that there would be times where I would leave the game open, afk in town selling stuff and it would freeze. I have went weeks without it freezing it when I'm playing it throughout the day but once I go afk, freeze. I'm not playing it anymore now though, just thought I would point it out.

The games mentioned are not the only one the freeze occurs on, just that it tends to happen more when I'm using my desktop on those situations. Here are my specs:
PSU: Seasonic 620W
CPU: Intel i5 3570
Mobo: ASUS p8z77-vlk

GPU: Leadtek GTX670

RAM: G.Skill ripjaws x 2x4GB

SSD: 120GB intel SSD
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB

Skyrim without mods averaged at 55, with mods at 90
Diablo at 45
Haven't touched Eden Eternal in a while since I've uninstalled it but I remember it being around 55 to 60 or so.
CPU temps averaged at about 50 for everything save Skyrim with mods where it hit around 60+

@CoolJ S.A.S.: Yeah, using Skyrim as a stress test seems much more trouble than it's worth plus a lot of my stuff are probably out of date so I'm skipping Skyrim for now. I'm probably going with a video running in the background while playing D3. I have tried with another video but I didn't let it render in HD and it ran fine. Not sure if it was just a fluke so I'm going to do the same thing with multiple videos and then again in HD to see if the same thing happens.
Oh yeah I completely missed out a part of your question when I replied earlier as I was sleepy, my bad. I use do use Boss and SKSE and manage mods with Nexus Mod Manager. I have also cleaned my mods before following a tutorial on youtube, freeze still happened.
As for my skyrim.ini

@Mike_The_B0ss: My bios has the overclock option set to auto, between auto, manual and xmp. Should I set it to manual instead? As I assume auto switches between manual/xmp depending on situation.

ignore everything to do with skyrim, its not your problem. i'd leave task manager open at all times and check cpu usage when it freezes. and whats doing it.

How do Reavers clean their spears?

The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again.

This ini file is okay, it could use  ALOT of tweaking, but it doesn't look messed up. What about your Skyrim ini pref? Load order? Which mods did you clean?

Try one of those and tweak it a bit, you should get much better performance.

Maybe part of the  problem is your cooling? I don't see why a non-k serires CPU would need to run at 90 even at full load. :/

My rig is air cooled, my CPU has never hit 90 if that's what you're referring to, it's my GPU.

The whole desktop freezes to the point where I can't even access task manager.
